Our current mission opportunities are listed below. We invite you to explore and participate in one or several of these events. THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING THE HUNTING PARK CHRISTIAN ACADEMY RACE FOR EDUCATION:

The Race for Education is an annual fundraiser which involves HPCA students and other participants walking or jogging around a 1/4 mile track for one hour in Hunting Park, Philadelphia. All the proceeds go to continuing education at Hunting Park Christian Academy. This year's race was held on Wednesday April 21 and was a great success. Click here to view pictures of the event. DONATE YOUR USED INKJET CARTRIDGES:  Hunting Park Christian Academy collects used inkjet cartridges for recycle and credit for school supplies. In addition, HPCA's "Wish List" includes:  School Supplies: pens, pencils, calculators, chart paper; Art Supplies: construction paper, glue, washable tempera paint, watercolors, oil pastels; Office Supplies:clear tape, staples, paper clips, White-Out,dry erase markers, post-its; Modern Computer Equipment:laptops, Windows XP; School Furniture: tables, chairs, bookshelves, student and teacher desks; Gift Cards: Our teachers could always use gift cards to Staples, Office Max, and Wal-Mart: You may place your used inkjet cartridges, or other items you wish to donate, in the marked box in the LPC Heritage Hallway. HELP GLOBAL AID NETWORK (GAiN) HELP OTHERS:  GAiN provides many ways to become involved through their Mount Joy, PA distribution center as well as numerous other mission opportunities.  Please visit the GAiN web site, http://www.gainusa.org for more information on this mission opportunity as well as other current GAiN missions, or contact Claire Johnson at Cfjukraine@aol.com or 215 639-8980.

LPC FOOD CUPBOARD NEEDS A REFILL: Both church and community members rely on LPC’s food pantry to help feed their families. Please help out by bringing non-perishable items such as: soups, stews, canned meats, hot and cold cereals, parmalat or canned milk, tea, coffee, juices, canned fruit, spaghetti sauce, pasta, pasta and rice side dish mixes, crackers, snack bars and puddings. Donations can be put in the appropriate box under the coat rack in Heritage Hall or dropped off at the church office between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.


GOT LEFTOVERS? Why not turn your leftovers into meals for our Aid For Friends ministry? You can find foil meal trays or soup containers in the LPC Narthex and in the Chapel. Please feel free to take as many as you can fill with a balanced meal or a hearty soup, freeze and return to LPC. Meals are collected the second Sunday of each month, but they can be dropped off any Sunday morning when the kitchen is open or during church office hours, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For more information on how you can help, contact Deacon Tom Brown, pahusker1@yahoo.com or 215 750-9265.


DONATE KITCHEN UTENSILS & HOUSEHOLD CLEANING SUPPLIES - HELP IN THE BCHG PANTRY:  The LPC Board of Deacons works with the Bucks County Housing Group to maintain an apartment for families attempting to obtain permanent housing and become self sufficient. Kitchen utensils, pans, pots, and baking pans as well as general cleaning products and laundry detergent are needed. If you can donate any of these items they can be placed in the blue plastic container in the Heritage Hallway. For information on how you can help contact Susan Strachan at 215 752-2809. LPC volunteers help in the BCHG food pantry on the third Thursday of every month. If you would like to volunteer to work at the BCHG Food Pantry please contact Alex Jacoski,  ajacoski52@hotmail.com or  215-750-3736.


GIVE BLOOD: The next American Red Cross blood drive at LPC is scheduled for Friday August 27, 2010 from 1:30 to 7:30 P.M. in Fellowship Hall.  Donors are always urgently needed. If you are a frequent donor, or have never been a blood donor, please consider this opportunity to give the gift of life. HELP! The Deacons are looking for individuals to assist with LPC’s upcoming Red Cross Blood Drive by calling potential donors (list provided). Help is also needed making donor appointments at the sign-up table on Sunday, August 15th and 22nd before and after the 9:15 worship service. DONATE YOUR GOOD USED CLOTHING:   Do you need more room in your closet? The Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission can help. This mission provides meals and overnight shelter, helps women with transitional housing, andhas a men's recovery program. This is also LPC youth ministry site. The mission now has a thrift shop in Penndel at Durham Road and U.S. 1. (Site of the old Cooperative Furniture). The thrift store accepts laundered clothing in good condition, furniture, household goods, laundered bedding and linens,books and small kitchen appliances in working condition Monday-Friday, 10am to 5 pm and Saturday 10 am to 4 pm.
