What We Believe

Congregational Mission Statement

“By the grace of God, we are part of God’s family, forgiven and loved in Jesus Christ. As Jesus taught, our mission is to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and to love our neighbors as ourselves. This we do as the Holy Spirit transforms us through worship, prayer and study of the Bible. So empowered, we bear the life of Jesus into the world: encouraging each other to practice our faith daily and reaching out to meet the physical and spiritual needs of all.”
[adopted April 15, 1996]

As a church family, our desire is to grow in love, faith, and service to our Lord Jesus Christ and to be a lighthouse in the community – we want to share the life and love of Jesus.

Langhorne Presbyterian Church is a part of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and joyfully affirms the rich Reformed Tradition in its worship, mission and educational ministries. Our Session (the elders of the church) has affirmed our belief in:

  • the authority of the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament
  • the unique saving Lordship of Jesus Christ
  • God’s call to holiness, righteousness and justice in the life of all believers.
