"Finish with Joy" and "don't Waste Your Life"
In “Finish with Joy,” a five-week Faith Acts class that begins February 7, 6:15 p.m., Bill and Becky Teague will help class members consider how to embrace older age as an opportunity for continued learning, careful planning, and heartfelt discipleship. Guided by J.I. Packer’s Finishing Our Course with Joy, the class will consider how we might press on toward the upward call of God with endurance and grace – that we might continue to glorify God in our aging and finish our lives with joy.
Using Packer’s categories of “young old,” “medium old,” and “oldest old,” the class is especially appropriate for those 55 or older.
Our second Faith Acts class for February 7 - March 7 will be a video series based on John Piper’s Don’t Waste Your Life. Elder Don Reimold will serve as facilitator.
The American dream beckons people to spend their lives on trivial diversions, slipping through life caught up with seeking success, comfort, and pleasure above all else. But God designed people for far more than this.
In this series, John Piper makes a passionate plea to avoid the dangers of a wasted life, calling us to take risks and make sacrifices that matter for eternity — with a single, soul-satisfying passion for the glory of God that seeks to make much of him in every sphere of our lives.
Faith Acts begins with dinner at 5:15. Classes begin at 6:15.
